Late yesterday, the Department of Defense confirmed the death of two Soldiers who were deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. Both soldiers died March 5, 2019, as a result of a non-combat related, motor vehicle incident. The incident is under investigation.

Killed in the incident were Sgt. Holli R. Bolinski, 37, of Pinckneyville, Illinois, and Spc. Jackson D. Johnson, 20, of Hillsboro, Missouri.

Both soldiers were assigned to 657th Transportation Company, 419th Transportation Battalion, 103d Sustainment Command, Mount Vernon, Illinois.  Mount Vernon is located in Southern Illinois, and is the county seat for Jefferson County.
